May was an absolute whirlwind, both personally and professionally! I found myself racing to wrap up editorial projects, squeeze in errands, and mentally brace for the end-of-school-year chaos. But even in the busiest moments, I was reminded just how grateful I am for the flexibility of my job, especially when it allows me to attend sweet moments like my 5-year-old’s ABC Fashion Show. It was hands-down one of the cutest and most entertaining school events yet!
🎉 On the personal front, my husband and I celebrated our birthdays just one day apart. Birthday festivities look a little different these days (hello, school-night routines!), but I rang in the big 4-0 surrounded by love, laughter, and a whole lot of cake.
Despite the hectic pace of the month, I still managed to read 8.5 books! I’m counting The Blue Hour since I made it through most of it in May and just have the last third to go. It was a great mix overall. Between ARCs, book club picks, and indie authors I’m now proudly working with, my TBR pile definitely kept things interesting!

May was an exciting month for Pinto Prose & Publicity! On the editorial side, I’ve been deep in multiple projects that are shaping up to be incredible reads when they launch later this year and into 2026.
The biggest highlight? Starting Today by indie author A. Echo officially hit shelves on May 16! 🎉 I was honored to be part of this project and can’t wait for more readers to dive into it.

On the PR front, I’ve been working with several amazing authors, including Rebecca Parcha, whose book Daughter of Destiny released on May 8. We originally met at Romance in CNY and instantly clicked. She’s now hard at work on Book 3 of her Untish Series, and I’m so excited to help bring this sweeping romantasy series to more readers. If you love found families, slow-burn romance, and high-stakes magic, keep an eye out—Rebecca’s worldbuilding is rich, and the stakes only get higher from here.
With school ending and our family headed to the Outer Banks later this month, my posting schedule will shift slightly, but I still have lots planned before we pack our beach bags!

HEY, I’M CYNTHIA…
Welcome to my personal book haven! I’m all about diving into stories and chatting with fellow bookworms.
I read pretty much anything and everything in the fiction world, except for horror (it’s just a little too spooky for me!). But give me a twisted psychological thriller, and I’m in.
I also love reading ARCs (advance reader copies), so you’ll often find my reviews up before or right on the book's publication day.
Happy reading, and let’s get lost in stories together!
