April flew by in the blink of an eye—especially after the blog relaunch! It’s hard to believe that just a few weeks ago, I was excitedly preparing for this new chapter.
Between Spring Break and Easter, life was a little hectic and chaotic, filled with planning lots of fun activities to keep the kids busy. Huge shoutout to our local library for having such incredible resources, including free and discounted museum passes. It definitely helped our family so much with finding fun, engaging, and affordable activities.
And to top off the month, I got to take a much-needed weekend getaway upstate for Romance in CNY with my bestie! I met so many amazing romance authors, which naturally led to an overstuffed TBR. (Can anyone else relate?)
Meeting authors and discovering new books definitely topped the list of April highlights. I can’t wait to dive into these new reads—here is a sneak peek at my book haul from the event, and stay tuned for tons more on the incredible writers I discovered!
I know most people read more when they are on vacation, but for me, it's the opposite. If I'm on vacation with the kids, I rarely have time to read, so April was a slower month, but I did take advantage of my drive upstate to listen to some audiobooks!
Cinder Luna was such a refreshing spin on the classic Cinderella tale, and I’ve also continued tumbling down the rabbit hole with Holly Renee’s addicting Boys of Clermont Bay series. Her audiobooks are just so binge-worthy.

April was a rewarding month on the editorial front. I wrapped up copyedits on a gripping climate thriller and a spicy romance memoir, and I’ve been deep in developmental edits on another romance project. I also had the pleasure of supporting a few authors as they polished their manuscripts for more substantial revisions.
Looking ahead, I’m excited for the projects coming up in May and June—including a few on the PR side! It’s such a joy to help authors bring their stories into the world.
That said, with summer around the corner and my five-year-old home full-time, I’ll be slowing down a bit to make space for family time. We’re heading to the Outer Banks in June for a much-needed getaway, and I fully intend to unplug while we’re there.
I’ve got a lot of exciting content planned for next month:

HEY, I’M CYNTHIA…
Welcome to my personal book haven! I’m all about diving into stories and chatting with fellow bookworms.
I read pretty much anything and everything in the fiction world, except for horror (it’s just a little too spooky for me!). But give me a twisted psychological thriller, and I’m in.
I also love reading ARCs (advance reader copies), so you’ll often find my reviews up before or right on the book's publication day.
Happy reading, and let’s get lost in stories together!
