If there’s one thing the past few months have taught me, it’s that life has a way of writing its own stories—complete with cliffhangers, detours, and the occasional plot twist or two (or ten). 🤍
Between editing projects, family life, and everything else in between, my reading and blogging both slowed down a bit this summer. But as the weather turns cooler and the leaves start to crunch underfoot, I’m finally finding my way back to a steadier rhythm—and I’ve missed this space so much.
My TBR pile never seems to shrink (can anyone relate?), and my reading has slowed significantly these past few months (though I did still manage to finish a few this summer).
I'm getting back to the books and these three are my current reads:
Cowboy Casually by Holly Renee — I’m nearly finished with this one, and let’s just say I have thoughts that I can’t wait to share soon. Holly’s mix of heart, humor, and chemistry always hits just right.
The Perfect Son by Freida McFadden — I’m about halfway through and fully hooked. Her thrillers always keep me turning the pages, and this one is no exception.
The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes by Suzanne Collins — I finally started the audiobook, and it’s been the perfect audio companion for folding laundry. It’s been fascinating revisiting the Hunger Games world from such a different angle!
One of the things that kept me extremely busy this summer was Pinto Prose & Publicity! I started the summer trying to slow down to have more time with my kids, but ended up taking on a few more projects, including another monthly PR client!
There’s a lot happening in the indie author world right now, and I’m so thrilled for some of my favorites:
Embers in Our Souls by Stefanie Castro releases November 5, completing her Boston Embers series—so mark your calendars! 🔥
And on the anniversary of Fangs of Fate’s release (Wednesday 10/29), Rebecca Parcha has some very exciting news coming your way. (Trust me, you’ll want to keep an eye out for that one.) 👀
I’m easing back into a consistent posting rhythm here on the blog and across social media—think new book reviews, fresh author spotlights, and more behind-the-scenes peeks at the editing side of things.
I’ve got a few fun features planned to round out the year, including my Ten Before The End, a cozy reading challenge to carry us into winter.
It feels so good to be back, reconnecting with this amazing bookish community. Thanks for sticking around through all the chaos and cliffhangers! I can’t wait to share more stories, reviews, and conversations with you all again.

HEY, I’M CYNTHIA…
Welcome to my personal book haven! I’m all about diving into stories and chatting with fellow bookworms.
I read pretty much anything and everything in the fiction world, except for horror (it’s just a little too spooky for me!). But give me a twisted psychological thriller, and I’m in.
I also love reading ARCs (advance reader copies), so you’ll often find my reviews up before or right on the book's publication day.
Happy reading, and let’s get lost in stories together!
